Cool Tools Episode 21 Screencast: ShoZu




ShoZu
is a downloadable application which links video and photos from a mobile device to an online outlet. Using SMS messaging the application will directly upload media files to any online community of choice such as facebook, flickr, or blogger. Each post can be edited on a mobile device, or through the account online giving users the freedom to share, publish, and edit media content anywhere at anytime.

Thanks, Carissa, for sharing Shozu with us. The phrase you use, "anywhere, anytime" aptly describes our social culture. From fast food to Twitter, immediacy is the trend. It's a weird analogy, but it just popped into my head. And it's not just the time factor, but the networking aspect too. I think libraries and librarians need to take these trends into account when deciding how best to offer services to patrons.
